Getting to know the face behind Plan You a Date
I've always had a passion for life and a spark for fun.
It wasn't until a trip to New York in 2023 that everything really hit me.
I went expecting to live out the experiences I'd always imagined. Nothing crazy, just a little fancy moment like the ones you see in the movies… haha.
But no matter who we asked (our concierge at the Ritz, strangers on the street, even Google), nobody could point us to what we were looking for.
I was so determined that on our last night, we put on black-tie attire, hoping it would somehow manifest this "so-called experience."
Around 9 p.m., I decided to ask one more stranger.
Me (in a gown flowing all the way down to my toes): "Excuse me, sir! Do you know a place with live entertainment, maybe jazz, fancy cocktails and appetizers? Maybe even a dance floor?"
Stranger: "Yes! I know exactly what you're looking for! Head down this street, take a left, walk a little further, and it's on your left."
Me: "Oh my gosh, you angel! Thank you!!"
I walked as fast as I could in my heels. We paid the cover, I took a deep breath with the biggest smile on my face, and they pulled back the curtain to reveal…

So I guess I did get a movie-worthy New York experience. New Yorkers are… nice.
We left right away, went back to the hotel, and called it a night. All that effort, and we still missed out on the night we'd dreamed about.
When I got home to Calgary, it clicked: if I struggled that much in New York, how many incredible date nights was I missing right here at home? And I knew I wasn't the only one. Everyone knows the feeling of wanting a special night out, only to end up at the same spot, scrolling for hours, or settling for "good enough."
That's why I created Plan You a Date.
We plan date experiences for couples, from first dates and anniversaries to birthdays, proposals and just-because nights. You tell us your vibe, your budget and what makes your person light up, and we take it from there. We find the hidden gems, lock in the reservations and build a timeline for your night, so all you have to do is get dressed up and show up.
No endless searching, no guesswork, and definitely no surprise curtains… haha.
In the end, I'm just a gal who wants to live her best life, and part of that is helping couples create the moments they'll talk about for years.
