Getting to know the face behind 'Plan You a Date'
I’ve always had a passion for life and a spark for fun.
It wasn’t until a trip to New York in 2023 that everything really hit me.
I went there expecting to live out experiences I’d always imagined - nothing crazy, just a little fancy experience that you might have seen in the movies… haha.
No matter who we asked - whether it was our concierge at the Ritz, a stranger on the street, or even Google - all three could not tell us where it was that we were looking for.
If you should know, I really was adamant about having this experience that on the last day I had us put on black‑tie attire… thinking that would manifest us to this “so‑called experience.”
It was around 9 p.m. on our last night that I decided I was going to ask one more stranger on the street in hopes they would know where it was that I was so desperate to experience!
Me: (In my beautiful gown that flows all the way down to my toes) “Excuse me, sir! Do you know of a place that offers live entertainment (possibly jazz music) with fancy cocktails and appetizers? Maybe even a dance floor??”
Stranger: “Yes! I know exactly what you're looking for! Just head down this street, take a left at that street, walk a little bit further, and you’ll see on the left‑hand side ‘this business.’”
Me: “Oh my gosh!! You angel! Thank you!!”
I walked as fast as I could in my heels. I couldn’t wait!
We get to the place, open the door, and pay for our cover. I take a deep breath with the biggest smile on my face as they open the curtain to reveal what was behind it… and there we were:
In probably one of the grossest strip clubs in downtown Manhattan.

If you think about it, I think I did have a New York experience like the movies… New Yorkers are… nice.
Obviously, we got out of there right away, but that was it. We went back to the hotel and went to sleep. All that effort and we still missed out on so much.
When I got back to Calgary, that’s when I realized… if I struggled in New York, I’m probably missing out on so much here too!
That’s when it clicked!
I am not the only one who has these experiences. In fact, everyone has these struggles all the time!
So I created Plan You a Date - a service that guides and points you in the right direction so you don’t miss out or find yourself in environments you should never be in… haha.
In summary, I’m just a gal who wants to live her best life, and part of that is by helping others live their best lives too!
